Conference Workshops
Music workshops are a growing trend in business conferences - they can be used in several ways:
- percussion workshop for the opening session as an ice breaker
- re-energising workshop in the middle of the day
- an exciting, social session for an evening event
- a chance to free creativity
- as a starting point for discussion on the importance of working together / team building
- a way to develop and assess the public face of your business
- a session on presentation skills

No prior musical experience is required for any of the workshops listed
Ice breakers / re-energising session
African Drumming for groups up to 30 (for health and safety sound levels)
- Participants learn to play rhythms from Africa in a fun, inclusive environment
Latin American Percussion for groups up to 100
- Participants learn to play rhythms from Latin America in a fun, inclusive environment
Junk Percussion
- Participants create their own instruments out of junk and household objects and create a piece of music in a fun, inclusive environment
World Percussion
- Participants learn to play rhythms from around the World in a fun, inclusive environment
Singing Music from Around the World
- Participants learn songs from around the World in a range of languages in a fun, inclusive environment - no prior musical experience required - can be tailored to include songs from specific parts of the World eg places the delegates live and work
A Cappella singing
- Participants learn songs from a range of genres including jazz, folk and pop
Ceilidh
- Participants take part in a traditional Scottish Ceilidh - a taste of Scottish Country dancing in a fun, inclusive environment
17th and 18th Century Dancing
- Participants learn to dance the Gavotte and Minuet - the popular court dances of the 17th and 18th in a fun, inclusive environment
Jazz Karaoke
- Participants have the chance to sing their favourite jazz songs, accompanied by a live band in a fun, inclusive environment

Creative workshops
Creativity means Business
- Participants look at the benefits of creative problem solving. They learn how to establish a creative mind set and how to use creative thinking techniques to develop services and products and solve problems.
Write a jingle
- Participants assess the public face of your company - impression do you want to create for clients and potential customers? Who are your clients and potential customers? What sort of music would they listen to? How could your company' policies be expressed as music? The workshop helps develop a better understanding of your company and promotes unity in the company's aims.
Presentation skills
A Cappella singing
- Participants learn songs from a range of genres including jazz, folk and pop to develop stage presence, use of the voice, communication skills and self-confidence
Latin American Percussion
- Participants learn rhythms from Latin America leading to a presentation to colleagues to develop stage presence, communcation skills and self-confidence
African Drumming
- Participants learn to play rhythms from Africa leading to a presentation to colleagues to develop stage presence, communcation skills and self-confidence
World Percussion
- Participants learn to play rhythms from around the World leading to a presentation to colleagues to develop stage presence, communciation skills and self-confidence
How important are presentation skills to your company and staff?
- Participants experience good and bad presentation skills through musical performance to show the importance of good presentation skills in all work situations - from a job interview to sales pitches. Includes information on how to use your voice and body language.
