Handel House Museum

The Music Workshop Company works in partnership with Handel House Museum

The Handel House Museum is located at 25 Brook Street, London, home to the baroque composer George Frideric Handel from 1723 until his death in 1759. It
was here that he composed some of the greatest music in history, including Messiah, Zadok the Priest and Fireworks Music.

The Museum celebrates Handel's life and works, displaying portraits of Handel and his contemporaries in finely restored Georgian interiors and bringing live
music back to his house.

Education
As part of its ongoing education programme, the Handel House Museum runs a lively series of events. Based around Handel, his music and his time, the
programme includes live music recitals, practical music making, workshops, study days, children's events and tours for a wide range of visitors. The Museum
has developed relationships with other arts organisations including the Music Workshop Company to offer a great variety of events of the highest quality.

The Museum also runs a schools programme with curriculum-based music, art and drama projects. Handel House projects have focused on objects in the Museum;
Handel's ceremonial music such as the Coronation Anthems (for the Jubilee), the Water Music and the Fireworks Suites; a multicultural interpretation of Brockes Passion; jazz in a baroque structure and a GCSE music technology project Handel and Hendrix. A research grant from National Foundation for Youth Music has enabled the Museum to work with hospitals, early years centres, out of school and youth groups to develop a series of vocal, instrumental and compositional projects which will be completed in 2003. The Museum is also committed to providing access for disabled visitors and runs a popular series of workshops
for the visually impaired.

The Music Workshop Company works with musicians from all over the UK and can offer workshops in all areas of England, Wales and Scotland.
